"The moving image, ever since its conception, has been interested in human motion. Similarly this video was inspired by the work of Etienne-Jules Marey and early motion photography.

Although a digital project, the process was incredibly tactile and laborious to achieve 'step and repeat printing', much like the early days of celluloid.

The digital workflow however has allowed directors/editors Jean-Philippe Blunt and Thom Humphreys to augment the chronophotographic technique.

No images were computer generated, and the opening sequence alone includes 1,498 shots - more cuts than some feature films!"
