"TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE"

Courtney Act has been causing a stir in Hollywood lately, hanging with pal Chaz Bono, performing private "Applause" dances for Lady Gaga, and preparing for her next highly publicized television gig. But before she battles it out on the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, premiering Monday, February 24th on LOGO-TV, Act is unleashing a single and music video that encourages activists rallying against hate in Russia to shift perspective and fight for love instead. "So often, we see something we don't like and we push against it, thinking we are being productive and sparking change, when really we are fueling negativity and anger," says the singer. "I believe the more practical way to bring about change is to know what we want, turn in that direction and simply be the change we seek." "To Russia With Love" is a fun, electro-pop song with a banging anthemic chorus, about an intense love affair that takes place in the middle of Russia's most prominent cities and landmarks. It is available February 14th on iTunes and all major online retailers.

"There are no greater rights than human rights but it is important to look at the bigger picture," continues Act. "Russia isn't only oppressive toward gay people, it is hard on everyone, particularly women.

"Russia is a very different place than what we in the west are familiar with. We cannot apply our own values and judgments to the country. We need to have greater compassion and understanding and recognize that our similarities are greater than our differences."

Courtney Act, whose last pop track "Welcome to Disgraceland" sparked frenzy in dance clubs, proposes we live authentic lives that serve as an example to the 85% of Russians who oppose homosexuality today. She encourages fans radiate goodness because from it, the world will become a better place naturally.

"Tell me a story about a great achievement made by a gay, lesbian, or trans person and let us focus on that instead", says Act.

It is why "To Russia With Love" doesn't strike against Putin. The song and music video simply turn away from his ignorance and tell the tale of a love that manages to shine in the middle of his imposed darkness.

After appearing on "Idol", Courtney Act launched a phenomenal arena tour throughout Australia and signed a record deal with Sony/BMG. She played the role of Angel in RENT the musical, opened Lady Gaga's Australian club tour and was named the face of Sheer Cover makeup. FHM Magazine even named Act among the World's Top 100 Sexiest Women.

In 2011, Courtney Act moved to Los Angeles and has made television appearances on Good Day LA, Are You There Chelsea (NBC) and I Will Survive.
