"My Sam Montana" speaks Britalian. It's one of those songs that sticks in your head, jumping from words in Italian to words in English. A pleasant, captivating and catchy mixture of languages.
"My Sam Montana" is a gelato eccezionale. It's a summery Pop song with a bright, cheerful mood and a hint of classy extravagance. It's a simple, timeless melody that gets you lying on your towel, sunbathing and licking your melting ice cream...
Sarcasm, paradox and puns are Alan's way of being and composing.
Alan created The Van Houtens back in 2008. In those days The Van Houtens were a fake band: he wanted to taste the emotion of being in a band without the problems that bands often have (drunken guitarists, strenous rehearsals...). One particular song, "(It's a) Beautiful day", was chosen by McDonald's as the jingle for the "Chicken Gourmet" TV commercial, on air on all major Italian TV networks. The combination between one of the biggest multinational companies in the world and an ultra-independent artist made this unusual story very popular on the internet.
Now it's Alan's turn on his own! Well, no... not really... apparently he's surrounded by a lot of pretty cone girls, melting for him...
