Artist Biography: Formed in 2006 by drummer Patrick Curley and guitarist Mike Neumeister, Theater of the Absurd's focus is on delivering songs which are vast in scope and influence, a unique, emotional listening experience. Now with a heightened maturity from years of honing their musical craft, Theater of the Absurd have teamed up with Graviton Music Services to release "The Myth of Sisyphus," an opus which features the rich talents of musicians such as Chandler Mogel on vocals, and the expertise of such legendary individuals as Jim Morris of Morrisound Studios (Death, Iced Earth, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Warrant) handling the mixing duties and Maor Appelbaum (Cynic, Halford, Therion, Amored Saint, Dokken, Sepultura) providing the mastering duties. Theater of the Absurd is concerned not only with a desire to create great
songs; the band offers its view of society and the inner struggles of humanity through lyrics (penned by Curley and Neumeister), album art (provided by immensely talented Serbian painter Zoran Velimanovic), and choice of album title (taken from a Camus essay). For Theater of the Absurd, nothing is done by accident: every note, every lyric, every bit of art is meant to purvey a specific vision of society, of humanity, and of the world.

About The Video: "Rising Tides in Still Water" is Theater of the Absurd's first video, and it was important for the band that the events on-screen matched the song's intensity, weaving a story of intrigue, desire, and helplessness. It is a song that tries to rectify feelings of ambitious desire with societal pressures and the banality of existence. It confronts the repetitive tasks of everyday life and the expectations of a callous world. The music is meant to take the listener on a journey through the trials of one person's life, however it is a life that should look familiar to us all. As one tries to cope, we also cope; as one cries, we cry. And ultimately, as one gives up and accepts fate, we muck our hands and turn a blind eye to a once-youthful exuberance.
